Join us from home on Thursday, August 27 at 7 p.m. for the premiere of “Speech and Debate”. To access this event, click on the link below to sign up before midnight on Wednesday, August 26. A link to the production will be sent via email. The link will activate at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 27. The production can be watched at anytime through the evening of Sunday, August 30.

Auroris will be having a week-long virtual summer dance workshop, with a variety of classes taught by Alumni and current Auroris members. The workshop will take place over Zoom from July 19th-25th, with hour-long classes between 11 AM to 7 PM. The workshop will be donation-based, with 100% of the donations going to Circles and Ciphers, a Chicago-based organization that uses restorative justice and art to empower young people impacted by violence.

The Auroris Dance Company is pleased to announce that senior Olivia Yoshioka’s piece, “Fever Dream” was selected to be a part of The Illinois High School Dance Festival on Saturday, May 2nd, 2020 at Riverside Brookfield High School. Niles North High School was one of thirteen schools selected out of all the high school dance companies that auditioned in the state of Illinois to perform at this prestigious festival. This is the ninth time that the Auroris Dance Company will be performing at the Illinois High School Dance Festival. The Auroris Dance Company is under the direction of Deanna Sortino, with assistant director Zoe Hertz, and assistant hip-hop director Chris Chueng The Illinois High School Dance Festival is an annual gathering of high school dancers and their teachers. This exciting day of dance includes four master classes, a professional company performance and a student choreography showcase. The Festival provides a dance intensive experience with many styles of dance. Students and teachers are able to share this day with their peers throughout the state in an effort to create connections, to learn through similarities and differences in our programs and to simply appreciate the art of dance!

Dancers are: Britney Le, Danielle Lehrer, Dina Kaiser, Miranda Estrada, Neiko Gaoiran, Myka Punzalan, Olivia Yoshioka, Stefan Westerberg, Summer Lee

Also, please celebrate their acceptance to State, as well as to the National High School Dance Festival with their Nationals Send Off at 7:50am on Thursday, 2/27 in the Main Gym.

Fall Grants for our Fine Arts students have been launched. Please encourage your student(s) to apply; grants are non competitive. Completed applications are due on Thursday, October 3rd. A link to the application is below. Don’t let your student(s) miss out on this opportunity. Parents, you do need to sign off on the application as well as fine arts teachers. Please check your student’s application for completeness as incomplete applications cannot be accepted. If you have any questions please email info@nnfap.org

Corporate Matching- If your company participates in a corporate matching program such as the United Way or Benevity, please select the Niles North Fine Arts Parents and Patrons (NNFAPP), as one of the recipients of grants. Then, periodically, NNFAPP (a 501c3 organization) will receive distribution checks. That money, in turn, goes to our Fine Arts students in the form of grants for private music lessons, master classes, creative workshops/seminars, art classes, dance classes and participation in outside ensembles and educational programs.
