The Auroris Dance Company goes to State for the 9th Time!

The Auroris Dance Company is pleased to announce that senior Olivia Yoshioka’s piece, “Fever Dream” was selected to be a part of The Illinois High School Dance Festival on Saturday, May 2nd, 2020 at Riverside Brookfield High School. Niles North High School was one of thirteen schools selected out of all the high school dance companies that auditioned in the state of Illinois to perform at this prestigious festival. This is the ninth time that the Auroris Dance Company will be performing at the Illinois High School Dance Festival. The Auroris Dance Company is under the direction of Deanna Sortino, with assistant director Zoe Hertz, and assistant hip-hop director Chris Chueng The Illinois High School Dance Festival is an annual gathering of high school dancers and their teachers. This exciting day of dance includes four master classes, a professional company performance and a student choreography showcase. The Festival provides a dance intensive experience with many styles of dance. Students and teachers are able to share this day with their peers throughout the state in an effort to create connections, to learn through similarities and differences in our programs and to simply appreciate the art of dance!

Dancers are: Britney Le, Danielle Lehrer, Dina Kaiser, Miranda Estrada, Neiko Gaoiran, Myka Punzalan, Olivia Yoshioka, Stefan Westerberg, Summer LeeAuroris state

Also, please celebrate their acceptance to State, as well as to the National High School Dance Festival with their Nationals Send Off at 7:50am on Thursday, 2/27 in the Main Gym.
