Vocal Jazz Festival & Guest Artist, Saturday, April 26

Guest Artist VOCALOGY VOCAL JAZZ QUINTET will perform at 8pm on Saturday, April 26 in the NN auditorium.

Come to an enjoyable evening of  music. Tickets will be sold at the door.

From their website:

VOCALOGY is breathing new life into vocal jazz. Building on the tradition of musicality established by groups like The Hi-Lo’s and The Singers Unlimited, Vocalogy is setting a new standard with intricate original arrangements of surprising songs, as well as entertaining solo features with world-class vocal improvisation.

“Vocalogy is one of the most musical and exciting groups I have heard… The arrangements, the energy, and audience appeal is first rate… You’ll be hearing more from this group for years to come.”
– Dr. Ron McCurdy, Thornton School of Music (USC)

The quintet got its start as an artist-in-residency program under Grammy nominee Phil Mattson. In more than a decade since, Christine Guter (lead), David Thorne Scott (alto), John Knutson (tenor), Gerhard Guter (baritone), and Chris Morey (bass) have performed for audiences from California to Nova Scotia.
In addition to concerts, Vocalogy specializes in giving workshops and clinics to high school and college students, drawing on their individual professional experience that runs the gamut from classical choral music to composing for video games. They are passionate about inspiring the next generation of singer/musicians.
