Niles North High School student Daniel Sahyouni has been selected to perform with the all-National Concert Band. The All-National Honors Ensembles are comprised of 674 high school students from across the United States. Only 13 students were selected from the state of Illinois, and of those, only three are band students.
Sahyouni is the first Niles North student to be awarded this honor. Only students who have previously participated in All-State Honors Ensembles were eligible for the National Honors Ensemble. He was selected on the basis of his video audition.
Sahyouni will be participating in the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) Conference, at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, TN in October. The All-National Concert Band will be directed by renowned composer-conductor Mark Camphouse.
The Niles North Theater Director’s Circle presents AN ALMOST PERFECT PERSON. August 15 and 16, 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm in the Drama Performance Center. Tickets available at the door.
Hear the music flow from the Niles North Choirs tonight, Tuesday, May 21, 2014 in the Niles North auditorium at 7:30pm. This is the final performance of the school year and will feature acapella music of the Beatles.
